John has over thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry. His past positions have included development and acquisitions, business development, operations and consulting. Throughout his career, he has been involved with virtually every type of hospitality project including resorts, conference centers, convention centers, full service hotels, select service hotels and food and beverage establishments.
John’s resort experience is extensive and incorporated time share, whole ownership condominiums and hotels and his market experience includes all of the continental United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada and Hawaii.

John brings a unique perspective to real estate brokerage and investment banking with his extensive background in development and acquisitions; he has an intimate knowledge of the factors driving a buyer’s purchase decision.

A Senior Vice President with Hodges Ward Elliott since 1999 and an integral member of Mark Elliott’s team, John has worked closely with Mark on some of HWE’s largest assignments as the lead manager. Relevant transactions include the sale of the Nashville Union Station Autograph for $52.2 million; the Hilton College Station for $46 million; the sale of the Raleigh Marriott Crabtree for $30.6 million; the sale of the Embassy Suites Denver Downtown Convention Center for $134.8 million; the representation of a client for the sale of 37 hotels in the 5 separate transactions, the largest of which was a portfolio of 29 of the client’s select service hotels to a single buyer for over $292 million; the sale of the Westin Atlanta Airport for $74 million; the sale of the Tampa Embassy Suite Downtown for $77 million and the sale of the sale of the DoubleTree Tampa Westshore for $43.1 million and the sale of the Indigo Atlanta Midtown, the first Indigo ever developed.
